Series: IPL 2023
Lets have the preview of team Delhi Capitals 2023
Complete Delhi Capitals (DC) Squad and Players List for IPL 2023
David Warner to Lead Delhi Capitals in Rishabh Pant’s Absence Axar Patel to be Named as Vice-Captain
David Warner has previously led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL, winning them their first and only trophy in 2016. He was later sacked by he management in 2021 after two poor seasons.
Strength of the Delhi Capitals:
Their top-3 are their strength. The top 3 are expected to be Warner, Shaw, and Marsh, or Warner, Shaw, and Pandey. Any of the combinations are good. These are all great players.
Manish Pandey looked off-color last season but to say the least, Pandey is an IPL legend. Season after season he has been the backbone of the batting line-up he has played for.
One bad season doesn’t overshadow his class. And the community is pretty aware of how colossal Shaw and Warner can be o their respective days
The other strength is their fast-bowling depth. They have the top players in the business. Khaleel, Chetan, Kamlesh, and Mustafizur. The presence of Anrich Nortje adds immense value too. He constantly clocks 150 kmph.
Weakness of the Delhi Capitals:
The weakness is the absence of an Indian middle-order batter. They are relying on Sarfaraz Khan but Sarfaraz has got the runs in red-ball cricket.
His numbers in the white-ball domestic circuit are not very exciting. The other options at number 6 are Ripal Patel and Lalit Yadav. They backed Lalit last season;
it will be the same this season. There are no other evident weaknesses.
Opportunities for the Delhi Capitals in TATA IPL 2023:
With weaknesses, come opportunities. Lalit Yadav or Ripal Patel or Sarfaraz Khan will play at least 7 games. And 7 games are enough to leave an impact if they get a chance to bat.
Ayush Badoni is one example who did the same last year. His scores were not very high while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants but his performances were impactful.
Jitesh Sharma is another example. Jitesh even earned a national call-up based on his display for the Punjab Kings.
Squad for the Delhi Capitals:
Phil Salt (ENG), Yash Dhull, Sarfaraz Khan, Ripal Patel, Rovman Powell (WI), Prithvi Shaw, David Warner (AUS), Rilee Rossouw (SA), Manish Pandey, Lalit Yadav, Mitchell Marsh (AUS),
